Recently we were kindly invited along to a bloggers event at Ocean Exmouth. Ocean Exmouth is a great place right on the beach where you can play bowling, let the kids run around in the soft play area, enjoy drinks at the bar or have a spot of lunch, you can even host your event in the function room on the top floor.
We were both really excited about our visit, I was looking forward to meeting up with some fellow Devon bloggers, and my little girl was excited about the soft play. Unfortunately, she hadn’t really slept the night before and fell asleep 10 minutes before we arrived and then slept through till lunch time, missing out on playing in the soft play when everyone else did. We did go back at the end of the day so she could have a play though as I didn’t want her missing out.
It was actually quite nice to have a bit of a break while she slept though and meant I could relax and have a coffee and chat, getting to know some of the bloggers I hadn’t met before.
I also got to go and take a peek at the function room on the top floor that you can hire for parties and weddings. They have a licence so you can have the ceremony on the terrace too and the views are stunning.
When it was time for lunch I thought it was about time my little girl woke up as she had been asleep for two hours by then (It’s alright for some, I was exhausted by the end of the day).
For lunch, we got treated to a selection of different pizzas with sweet potato fries and the kids also had the option of veggie sticks with dip. The pizza was really nice and I wish I could’ve brought some home with us as there was a bit left over but I suppose the extra probably got given to the staff anyway.
After lunch it was time for bowling, my little girl was wide awake by now and raring to go, she loved her ‘new shoes’ but I did have to explain that she couldn’t take them home with her. I didn’t even know you could get bowling shoes in her size but apparently, they start from a toddler size 6.
We split into groups and set up a game just for kids so that we didn’t slow anyone else down. I did have to explain a few time to my little girl that she couldn’t pick the balls up by herself but she insisted on being able to push it down the ramp on her own.
After we had finished bowling we said our goodbyes to everyone and headed back up stairs to the soft play. My little girl literally ran in, shoes and all until I called her back to take them off. She then just sat down where she was, threw her shoes off and ran off lol.
The soft play area at Ocean Exmouth is really big and has 3 separate areas for babies, toddlers and older ones. The bigger section was obviously the most appealing to my little girl but after scrambling about in there for a bit with her and trying to stop her from going down the drop slide, I eventually managed to get her to try out the toddler section so I could have a sit down and a bit of a break.
Overall we really enjoyed our visit to Ocean Exmouth and will definitely pop back in when we are over that way again.
